Pura Vida Foundation and Photo Gallery, Nelson BC

About Us

Give a Child Hope!
About Us The Pura Vida Foundation was founded in the small town of Nelson, BC by local photographer, Nathan Beninger.

Nathan visited and photographed some of the most desperate areas of Latin America and the pictures became a source of inspiration. The brilliant smiles and hopeful eyes of some of the most destitute children of the world were enough to motivate him to do whatever he could to create change and give these children hope.

In 2005, this led Nathan to create the Pura Vida Foundation (meaning Pure Life in Spanish) which is a registered charity in Canada that focuses on improving the lives of children and youth in Latin America.  The Pura Vida Foundation is a registered charity, charity number 84707 9563 RR0001.  Any donation over $10 will receive a tax receipt.  Donate on behalf of family and friends and we will include a free Pura Vida photo card with information on the foundation and the amount you donated on their behalf.  Contact Marni for further details.

The foundation hopes to attain their goal through varied projects.  The current goal is to build a shelter for sexually exploited young girls of Cusco, Peru and surrounding areas.  In addition, Pura Vida strives to provide basic necessities throughout Cusco that will enhance the living conditions for children and youth.

This is only the beginning.  Please refer to the current projects section of this site to find out more about our current and future projects.

Thank you for your support in helping to provide a future for these children and youth.  Give a child hope!
